New Delhi, June 17, 2025 : Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Museum has come up at Qutab Institutional Area, New Delhi. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Anubhuti Museum will soon be opened to the public showcasing the glorious history of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his nationalist philosophy with the latest technology. This information was given by Colonel Mohan Kaktikar (Retd), General Secretary, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Memorial National Committee, in a press conference held today. This museum will provide a unique experience of the glorious heritage of Chhatrapati Shivaji to the citizens of the country and abroad
The main objective of this museum is to provide a glimpse of the history of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as well as to spread his nationalist ideas, secularism, environmental protection and vision of an inclusive welfare state. This museum is being built especially to give detailed information to the young generation of North India about the contribution of Chhatrapati Shivaji and his strategies against the foreign invaders. Shri Kattikar informed that this committee is also running various public welfare initiatives in 9 other states.
Spread over 27,000 square feet, this museum will become a centre of attraction for tourists as well as a major place for historical education. State-of-the-art 13D technology has been used in it. This museum is built on the ground floor of a five-storey building, which will give the visitors the experience of being in the era of Shivaji Maharaj. Important events of Shivarai's life can be experienced through the dark ride. This museum has special significance due to its exhibitions based on historical documents.
At the entrance of the museum, weapons used during the period of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj are displayed, along with a replica of Shiva mudra.
Information about the condition of Maharashtra before Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj has been given through 13D technology. This exhibition gives a feel of the historical period.
