New Delhi, August 30, 2025: Acclaimed couturier and former FDCI Board Member Payal Jain showcased her latest couture collection at “The Legacy of Craft”, a prestigious celebration of Indian artisanal excellence held at The Kunj, Vasant Kunj.

Renowned for her signature blend of traditional Indian handcrafts and contemporary design, Jain’s collection was a poetic tribute to heritage, reimagining Chikankari as a language of quiet luxury. The 12 meticulously crafted ensembles honored the intricate art of Lucknow’s hand embroidery, seamlessly fused with global silhouettes that resonated with today’s couture audience.

“For me, Chikankari is not just embroidery, it is poetry woven by hand. This collection is my ode to the invisible threads of memory, heritage, and resilience that continue to inspire my work,” said Payal Jain.

Each ensemble in the collection told a story—one of timeless craft, airy textures, and hand-finished details that required hours of artisanal dedication. The presentation stood not only as a fashion statement but as a cultural commentary on the importance of preserving India’s handloom and embroidery traditions within modern design narratives.

“At its core, my work is about honoring the artisans. Their skill, patience, and artistry are the foundation of every garment I create. The runway is simply a medium to amplify their voice,” she added.

The evening was brought to life through expert choreography by Lakshmi Rana, with backstage direction by Delnaz Daruwala, and hair and makeup artistry by Kajee Rai. The showcase exemplified how couture can remain rooted in legacy while embracing innovation—a celebration of craft, culture, and contemporary elegance.
