New Delhi: The Integrated Medical Association (IMA-AYUS) celebrated its 39th anniversary, Lord Dhanvantari Jayanti, at the NDMC auditorium, Parliament Street, Connaught Place.
Mayor of Delhi Shri Raja Iqbal Singh inaugurated the event with the Lord Dhanvantari puja.
Dr. Ramphal Panchal, media in-charge and chairman of the legal committee for IMA-AYUS, stated that the event began with a Dhanvantari Vandana. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. M.B. Gaur (Director, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Charak Sansthan, Delhi). Special guest Dr. P.K. Prajapati, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), and distinguished guests Dr. K.D. Pathak (Chief Reporter, Daily Veer Arjun), Dr. Vidyawati (Dean, SGT, University, Gurugram) were welcomed by Dr. R.S. Chauhan and Dr. O.P. Vashisht, both patrons of IMA (AYUS), with mementos. The organization’s National President Dr. N.K. Chhavania, National General Secretary Dr. Raman Khanna, and Delhi President Dr. Arun Kataria also welcomed all guests with mementos and garlands.
The organization’s media in-charge, Dr. Panchal, reported that Dr. Bhima Bhatt was honored with the organization’s Dhanvantari Award for his commendable work in Ayurveda medicine, and Prof. (Dr.) Hakim Mohammad Mazahir Alam was honored with the organization’s Dhanvantari Award for his commendable work in Unani medicine by Dr. P.K. Prajapati (Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda) and Honorable Mayor Mr. Raja Iqbal Singh.
They were honored with theSushruta Award and the Charak Award for their commendable contribution to Ayurveda medicine.
Dr. Ramfal Panchal told that the organization honored Dr. SP Pandey ji with the Life Time Achievement Award for his commendable work in the interest of the organization by giving him a memento by the patron of the organization, Dr. RS Chauhan ji.
Speaking at the ceremony, Delhi’s Honorable Mayor Shri. Raja Iqbal Singh, stated that there is no disease that cannot be treated with Ayurveda. He added that he himself had to undergo Ayurveda treatment for facial paralysis. He stated that more Ayurvedic and Unani medical dispensaries will be opened in Delhi’s MCD. Doctors from various states were also honored, including Faridabad, Panipat, Karnal, Kaithal, and Jhajjar in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
The organization’s media in-charge, Dr. Panchal, stated that Dr. Keshav Sharma spoke extensively about Lord Dhanvantari in his speech. The organization’s patron, Dr. R.S. Chauhan, explained the achievements of IMA AYUSH in the development and promotion of Ayurveda medicine over the past 40 years. Although a non-governmental organization, the organization has consistently championed the rights of its practitioners. The organization’s National General Secretary, Dr. Raman Khanna, read the organization’s annual report and shared information about its remarkable work.
Referring to the organization’s past 40 years, the organization’s patron, Dr. R.S. Chauhan, said that our organization has been fighting for the development and propagation of the Indian system of medicine, and as a result, a separate Ministry of AYUSH has been established in the Government of India. Dr. Chauhan requested the Honorable Mayor of Delhi, Mr. Raja Iqbal Singh, to open more dispensaries of the Indian system of medicine in the MCD of Delhi, so that our doctors can get more employment.
Dr. Ramphal Panchal, Media Incharge of the organization and Chairman of the Legal Committee and Dr. P.K. Prajapati, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda, honored Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Media Incharge of Ministry of AYUSH, Mr. Ashok Kinker (Khel Today), Mr. Deepak Choubey (IANS), Ms. Payal Banerjee (PTI), Mr. Ajit Singh (Rashtriya Chhatra Shakti), Mr. Siddharth (PRO, AIIA), Mr. Ilteza Usmani (UNI, Urdu), Dr. Farman Ali (Urdu) by presenting them with the organization’s memento and shawl for their participation in the promotion and propagation of Ayurveda in the Press and Media Department. In his speech, Dr. Panchal stated that the organization successfully obtained a physical election order from the Delhi High Court for the Delhi Indian Medical Council, secured a stay on the right to integration of Indian medical systems in the Supreme Court, secured the right to integration for Ayurvedic and Unani medical practitioners with the National Commission for Indian Medicine, Government of India, secured the Delhi High Court’s approval of ISM doctors’ medical certificates for driving licenses in Delhi, and organized a national CME for Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners in Delhi, which is required for annual renewal.
Dr. Panchal stated that, like every year, the organization produced its own souvenir this year as well. Editor-in-Chief Dr. Luv Kumar and Editorial Board members Dr. Rajiv Malhotra, Dr. Mohammed Ashad, Dr. Shailesh Dwivedi, Dr. K.K. Singhal, and Dr. Jitendra Gaur made valuable contributions. While releasing the souvenir, the Honorable Mayor of Delhi Shri. Raja Iqbal Singh, said, “I assure you that more dispensaries of Ayurveda and Unani systems of medicine will be opened in the MCD and may the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari continue to be upon all of us Indians. I express my gratitude to the organization for inviting me to their program.”
Dr. Arun Kataria, President of the Delhi State Hospital, thanked all the guests and doctors present at the function.
