“Bharatiya Bhasha Parivar: Cultural Heritage” conference organized by Shyam Lal College

New Delhi: Shyam Lal College, through its Sarasvati IKS Centre and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully organized a two-day National Conference titled “Bharatiya Bhasha Parivar: Cultural Heritage” on 16–17 January 2026, with the support of the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The conference brought together scholars, academicians, and students to reflect on the role of Indian languages as foundational to India’s cultural continuity and knowledge traditions. Discussions across various academic sessions emphasized the relevance of Bharatiya Bhashas in education, culture, and contemporary scholarship.

The event was held under the stewardship of the Principal, Prof. Rabi Narayan Kar, whose academic leadership encouraged meaningful engagement with India’s linguistic and cultural heritage. The conceptual framework and academic direction of the conference were shaped by Prof. Kusha Tiwari, Director, Sarasvati IKS Centre and IQAC, ensuring an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach to the theme.

The conference was convened by Dr. Seema Guglani, whose organizational leadership and academic coordination ensured the smooth execution of the programme over both days, providing participants with a structured and enriching academic experience.

The inaugural session featured Prof. Chand Kiran Saluja as the Chief Guest. The concluding session was graced by Prof. Shrinivasa Varakhedi as the Chief Guest, along with Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma of the Bharatiya Bhasha Samiti as Distinguished Speaker and Dr. Mantha Srinivasu, Joint Secretary, University Grants Commission, as Distinguished Guest.

According to the organizers, the conference reaffirmed the importance of sustained academic dialogue on Bharatiya Bhashas and their integration with contemporary research and education, marking a meaningful step towards strengthening India’s linguistic and knowledge traditions.
