This landmark achievement not only reinforced the school’s identity at the national level but also ignited a profound sense of sportsmanship, patriotism, and aspiration among students.

The arrival of the ICC World Cup Trophy on 27 January 2026 transformed the campus into a vibrant hub of excitement and celebration. The trophy was accorded a grand and enthusiastic welcome in an atmosphere charged with thrill and festivity. The school premises were tastefully decorated for the historic occasion, and students, teachers, and invited guests felt deeply privileged to witness such a rare and memorable moment.

From tiny tots to senior students, everyone displayed remarkable zeal and enthusiasm. The campus echoed with resounding chants of “India–India”, reflecting the students’ love for the nation and their passion for cricket. Waving the tricolors with pride, the students gave the World Cup Trophy a magnificent reception, turning the event into a glorious chapter in the school’s history.

The occasion was further elevated by the gracious presence of the Chairman, Mr. Sushil Gupta, CEO, Mr. Bharat Gupta, and Director, Col. Ashok Kaul, whose attendance added dignity and grandeur to the celebration. Their encouragement and unwavering support greatly inspired both students and staff.

To make the event more engaging and enriching, an ICC Cricket Quiz was organized, drawing enthusiastic participation from students who showcased their knowledge and love for the game. The celebration was beautifully complemented by vibrant cultural performances, including patriotic dance and musical presentations, which reflected the true spirit of sportsmanship and national pride.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Mrs. Swati Joshi, highlighted the vital role of sports in holistic education. She emphasized that sports go beyond winning and losing, serving as powerful tools to instill discipline, dedication, and, resilience.. She reiterated the school’s strong commitment to providing the best sporting facilities and professional guidance to nurture young talent. Extending her heartfelt best wishes, she expressed confidence that Harshit would continue to scale greater heights and enjoy a brilliant and illustrious cricketing career.

The faculty proudly shared that Ganga International School feels privileged to have groomed Harshit Rana, whose unwavering dedication and relentless hard work paved his way to historicachievement. Coach Shravan beamed, extolling his feat of becoming the first Indian bowler to claim three wickets on his debut, calling it a moment of immense pride and honour for the institution.. The school proudly celebrates Harshit Rana, who is now playing for India in the ICC World Cup, 

Adding to this tribute, Coach Shravan, who closely mentored Harshit during his formative years, appreciated his extraordinary dedication and disciplined approach towards the game. He shared that Harshit consistently devoted long hours to rigorous practice and displayed an unyielding desire to learn and improve. According to Coach Shravan, these early signs of commitment and perseverance clearly reflected Harshit’s potential for future greatness, which has now translated into national and international success.

The memories shared by Harshit’s batch mates added a deeply personal and inspiring dimension to the celebration. Keshav Tyagi, a batch mate mentioned his hunger to improve never faded, and he willingly spent long hours practicing at school, always eager to learn from his failures. Keshav highlighted that Harshit’s greatest strength has always been his unwavering confidence in himself, which now enables him to perform calmly and fearlessly under pressure.

Echoing similar sentiments, Aryan described Harshit as a person with an amiable nature and a strong heart. He shared that Harshit has always been friendly, supportive, and dependable, staying regularly connected with his batch mates. Whether on or off the field, Harshit gives his best and sets an outstanding example through his behavior, humility, and commitment—qualities that make him a true role model.

The school’s glory reached new heights as it proudly recalled its rich contribution to Indian cricket.  Ganga International School has nurtured several national and international cricket stars, including renowned Indian pacer Ishant Sharma, along with accomplished Ranji players such as Sumit Mathur, Rahul Dagar, Mohit Sharma, and Sachidanand Pandey—a true testament to the institution’s strong sporting legacy.
