DDCA Apex Council Takes Landmark Decision to Promote Transparency and Good Governance

New Delhi, May 24, 2026: In a landmark governance decision aimed at promoting transparency and accountability, the Apex Council of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has resolved that no member of the Apex Council shall accept complimentary passes as a matter of practice.

The proposal was introduced by Rohan Jaitley, President of DDCA, during the Apex Council meeting held on May 24, 2026, and received majority approval from the members present.

The decision is being widely viewed as a significant step towards strengthening ethical standards and ensuring greater institutional transparency within cricket administration in Delhi.

Apart from the landmark resolution on complimentary passes, the Apex Council also deliberated upon and approved several key measures focused on the growth and betterment of cricket in the national capital.

The decisions taken during the meeting reaffirm the associationโ€™s commitment to good governance, professionalism, player welfare, and the development of cricketing infrastructure and talent in Delhi.

Complimentary Passes

It was proposed by DDCA President Rohan Jaitley that no member of the Apex Council shall accept complimentary passes as a matter of practice. The proposal was approved by the majority of members present.

Member Entitlements

Each member will receive two complimentary tickets for Gate Nos. 17โ€“18 along with buffet lunch facilities.

Stadium Entry

Biometric access for all members has been proposed to enable seamless and hassle-free entry through a designated gate.

Match Fee Revision

The match fees for umpires and scorers will be increased by 30%, considering the growing demands and enthusiasm surrounding domestic cricket.

Prize Money Parity

Prize money for the womenโ€™s team will be increased to ensure parity with the menโ€™s team.

League Venue Accessibility

As far as possible, all DDCA league matches will be conducted in Central Delhi to ensure greater convenience for young players.

Ground Lease & Infrastructure Expansion

Grounds including:

  • Modern School, Barakhamba Road
  • Jamia Millia Islamia
  • Hamdard, Jasola
  • DDA Park

will be taken on annual lease through the auction process to strengthen cricketing infrastructure and increase venue availability.

DPL Participation

Efforts will be made to provide opportunities and a platform to the maximum number of players in the Delhi Premier League (DPL).

Squad Size Rationalisation

It was unanimously decided that the squad size for all teams, across age groups and formats, will be restricted to 16 players only.

Domestic Squad Structure

Every DDCA domestic cricket squad shall consist of 16 players across all age groups.

Appointments & Cricketing Structure

The formation of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), along with the appointment of selectors and coaches, will be undertaken on priority to allow sufficient time for player performance evaluation and preparation.

New Building Project

Work on the new DDCA building project will commence soon. The proposed infrastructure will include:

  • 30 rooms
  • Swimming pool
  • Indoor practice pitches
  • Multi-cuisine restaurant

Facility Upgrades

Dressing rooms and hospitality boxes will be renovated and upgraded to improve overall facilities and operational standards.

Fan Amenities

Canopies and bleachers will be installed to provide comfort and relief to spectators during extreme summer conditions.
