Women Participate Enthusiastically in the Mango Eating Competition – Delhi Tourism

New Delhi, July 5, 2026: The 35th Mango Festival, organized by Delhi Tourism, concluded today with a prize distribution ceremony after witnessing an overwhelming response from thousands of visitors and tourists over the course of the festival.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore and appreciate nearly 400 varieties of mangoes on display. They also enthusiastically purchased fresh mangoes, mango saplings, and a wide range of mango-based products, including pickles, jams, jellies, mango panna, and mango papad.

One of the major attractions of the festival was the Mango Eating Competition, in which both men and women participated with great enthusiasm. As per the competition rules, participants were required to consume up to 3 kilograms of mango pulp within 3 minutes.

In the women’s category, a total of 20 participants competed. Kavita Chaudhary secured the first position by consuming 1.310 kilograms of mango pulp, while  Ms Beena finished second after consuming 1.300 kilograms. claimed the third position by consuming 1.139 kilograms of mango pulp. The winners were felicitated with prizes during the closing ceremony.

The primary objective of the Mango Festival is to provide a common platform for mango growers to showcase their hard work and achievements while promoting mango cultivation across the country. The festival also encourages new orchard owners and farmers to adopt modern cultivation techniques to enhance productivity, thereby strengthening India’s mango industry and contributing to increased export potential and foreign exchange earnings.

The 35th Mango Festival witnessed the participation of traditional mango growers, farmers, government departments, and non-governmental organizations. Mangoes hold a special place in India’s culture, heritage, and daily life. As in previous years, the dedicated efforts of Delhi Tourism played a significant role in making this year’s festival a grand success and attracting widespread public appreciation.
