New Delhi, August 21, 2026: The 13th Sport India Expo 2026 is being held from 20 to 22 August 2026 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, inaugurated the Sport India Conference and Awards 2026.

The main theme of the conference is ‘Vision 2036: Concrete Steps to Make India a Global Sports Power.’ It is being jointly organized by the Indian Exhibitions Services, Sport India Foundation, and Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI).

On this occasion, the Madhya Pradesh Sports Minister Mr. Vivvas K. Lar Sarang, Badlapur MLA Mr. Ramesh Chandra Mamashra, former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Atul Agrawal, National President of the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation Dr. Rakesh Mamashra, Senior Vice President of Amway India Mr. Sanjeev Soori, and Young India Physical Education and Sports Youth Minister of Telangana, Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) D. Kakkar, along with several prominent figures from sports, education, and industry, were present.

In his address, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized developing a strong sports culture in India and encouraging youth to engage regularly in sports. He said that sports are not just about competition or winning medals but are an important medium for the health, fitness, employment, skill development, and nation-building of young people. He highlighted the need for better coordination between the government, educational institutions, and industries for identifying talent, scientific training, and modern sports infrastructure

Madhya Pradesh’s Sports Minister, Mr. Vivvas Kailar Sarang, said that by giving young people better training, modern facilities, and regular competition opportunities, India can be turned into a global sports powerhouse.

Buddhapur MLA Mr. Ramesh Chandra Mishra said that to identify the sports talent in rural areas and smaller towns and take them to the national and international level, a strong system needs to be developed.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Atal Agrawal said that for the success of Vision 2036, the government, research institutions, sports bodies, and industry need to work together with a shared goal.

Dr. Rakesh Mishra said that promoting sports culture at the grassroots level, high-quality training, and more competitions is necessary to prepare athletes for the international stage.
During the conference, four panel discussions were held on sports policy and university leadership, identifying talents in rural areas and small towns, combining traditional training with modern sports science, drug-free sports culture, development of para-athletes, coaching, technological innovation, and the need for regional high-performance centers.

In these sessions, policymakers, former athletes, coaches, chancellors, sports scientists, and industry experts shared their thoughts. There was also discussion on strengthening India’s sports ecosystem through elite sports academies, public-private partnerships, modern sports infrastructure, indigenous sports equipment, sports patterns, e-sports, and digital technology.

Over 20,000 visitors from near and far participated in the expo. The presence of international buyers, delegates, and industry experts, many of whom had come from China and other countries, provided the event with a global business platform. A large number of trade visitors actively participated in the exhibition, and several key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between companies and industry delegates.

During the event, the Sport India Awards 2026 were also presented. Individuals and organizations who made notable contributions in the fields of sports, physical education, coaching, sports science, and sports infrastructure were honored.
The third and final day of Sport India Expo 2026 will be held on August 22, 2026. The expo is showcasing sports products, conference equipment, sports technology, sports infrastructure, and innovative solutions.
