New Delhi, September 9, 2026: The International Industrial Trade Fair “INNOPROM. India” took place in New Delhi from 9 to 11 September 2026. The National Centre RUSSIA will participate with its flagship Department Store project, which brings together goods from Russian manufacturers and products made by artisans from different regions of Russia.
The National Centre RUSSIA stand at “INNOPROM. India” takes the form of an octagonal arched structure, with monochrome berry-coloured elements placed on the outside. Inside, it is decorated with traditional Russian painting. A lace-ring-shaped structural frieze sits on the top of the dome. The main areas of the stand — screens, a model of the National Centre RUSSIA future building and the Department Store — are located beneath the vaults of the outer arches, along the sides of the octagon.
At the National Centre RUSSIA stand, visitors will have a chance to discover a wide range of Russian-made products, from food and cosmetics to accessories, souvenirs and decorative and applied arts. A special place will be given to handmade products made from wood, ceramics and textiles, as well as works by traditional folk artisans.
A separate area at the Department Store RUSSIA stand is dedicated to products featuring quotations from President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Here, visitors can find T-shirts, sweatshirts and caps featuring popular statements by the head of state: “Next time in Moscow”, “We must always look to the future”, “Family is the main value”, and many others.
The products on display offers an opportunity to discover Russia in all its diversity as a guardian of distinctive craft traditions. Behind every item lies the history of a region, the skill of its maker and a thoughtful reinterpretation of traditional folk crafts.
Masterclasses by traditional folk artisans
During the trade fair, the National Centre RUSSIA will hold demonstration masterclasses featuring artisans from the Ryazan, Kirov and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra.
The artisans are demonstrating how the traditional patterned fur pouch for needlework known as tuchan khir is made. Visitors are able to see how reindeer hide is dressed by hand and learn about the technique of fur mosaic, in which strips of light and dark fur are sewn together using threads made from reindeer sinews.
A leading Dymkovo craftswoman will demonstrate the stages involved in painting the famous Dymkovo toy. She will talk about the history of the craft, which originated more than four centuries ago in the Vyatka settlement of Dymkovo, and explain how this artistic tradition continues to develop today.
Guests will also be able to discover the Semyonov matryoshka (nesting doll) and Khokhloma painting. Masterclass participants will paint a matryoshka doll or a wooden spoon with Khokhloma patterns, learn about artistic techniques and create their own souvenirs.
Special edition of the Russian nevalyashka doll
Especially for “INNOPROM. India”, the National Centre RUSSIA, together with the Kotovskie Nevalyashki factory in Tambov, has prepared a limited edition of the famous Russian nevalyashka (roly-poly) dolls. Its design incorporates motifs from Indian culture, turning the instantly recognisable character into a symbol of cultural dialogue between the two countries.
The National Centre RUSSIA has created themed nevalyashka editions for international events on several occasions. Previously, nevalyashka dolls featuring elements of Uzbek and Chinese national imagery were produced for trade fairs in Tashkent and Harbin. One of them was made in the form of a panda.
The Department Store RUSSIA at international events
The Department Store RUSSIA has already been presented at international venues. In April 2026, it was presented abroad for the first time — at “INNOPROM. Central Asia” in Tashkent — and in May it took part in the Russia-China EXPO in Harbin. Both stands were among the most visited spaces at the trade fairs and became focal points for visitors.
Participation in international trade fairs confirmed the strong interest of foreign visitors in Russian-made products and traditional folk crafts. Tableware, crystal items, teas and traditional treats proved particularly popular.
During “INNOPROM. India”, Natalia Virtuozova, Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, will hold a press briefing for Russian and international media.
The “INNOPROM. India” trade fair will take place from 9 to 11 September at the Bharat Mandapam exposition complex in New Delhi. It is organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with the Formika group of companies serving as operator. The trade fair will provide a platform for business contacts and the launch of joint industrial projects between the two countries. It will take place ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit.
About the National Centre RUSSIA
The National Centre RUSSIA is a large-scale multifunctional complex established on the instructions of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as a continuation of the International RUSSIA EXPO, which was held at VDNH in 2023–2024 and attracted more than 18.5 million visitors. The space opened on 4 November 2024.
In 2029, a new National Centre RUSSIA building will open on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment in Moscow. On 26 March 2026, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin officially launched its construction. The new National Centre RUSSIA will be an architectural landmark of global significance, with no equivalent anywhere in the world. It will have a total floor area of more than 205,000 square metres. The building will bring together exposition areas, a transformable concert hall with 3,500 seats, the Department Store and a media centre. The venue will be able to accommodate up to 20,000 visitors simultaneously.
The mission of the National Centre RUSSIA is to introduce visitors to the history, culture and traditions of our homeland and showcase its scientific, technological and human potential. The permanent “Journey Across Russia” exposition is located here, allowing visitors to take a virtual journey through all of Russia’s federal districts in one hour without leaving Moscow. Temporary themed expositions are also regularly held in the space, offering visitors an opportunity to discover the country in greater depth.
The National Centre RUSSIA hosts major public, educational and cultural events and runs projects for children and young people. The “Young Tour Guides School of Russia” and “Young Journalists School” help schoolchildren learn the fundamentals of these professions both in theory and in practice.
The National Centre RUSSIA also runs its own flagship projects, including the All-Russian Wedding Festival “Russia. Uniting Hearts”, the Open Dialogue and the International Symposium “Inventing the Future”, among many others.
Indian citizens are regular participants in international events organised by the National Centre RUSSIA. They have already taken part in the I International Symposium “Inventing the Future”, and in 2026 this cooperation will continue as part of the III Forum in Moscow.
Indian musicians, including the “Sangam” ensemble, known for its work in Bollywood, were among the performers featured in the “BRICS Melodies” project. Representatives of India are also among the experts taking part in the Open Dialogue, which brings together specialists from Russia, India, China and other countries to discuss global trends. The National Centre RUSSIA is also involving Indian experts in a new international project — the Ethnographic Triennale.
The space also includes the Department Store RUSSIA, bringing together products from manufacturers and artisans from across the country, and the Gastronomic Rows, featuring dishes and culinary traditions from different regions.
