New Delhi, August 31, 2025: West Delhi Lions emerged champions of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, defeating Central Delhi Kings by six wickets in a thrilling final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Chasing 174, the Lions were in early trouble at 48/3, but captain Nitish Rana’s unbeaten 79 and an unbroken 85-run stand with Hrithik Shokeen (42 off 27)* turned the tide. Rana anchored the innings with composure and aggression, guiding his side to victory with 10 balls to spare.
Earlier, Central Delhi Kings posted 173/7 after slumping to 78/6, thanks to a stunning 78-run partnership between Yugal Saini (65 off 48) and *Pranshu Vijayran (50 off 24)**. Their late onslaught gave the Kings a fighting total.
For the Lions, Manan Bhardwaj (2/11) and Shivank Vashisht (2/12) impressed with the ball, while Rana also chipped in with 1/16 in 4 overs, showcasing his all-round prowess.
