New Delhi, September 27, 2025: Marking 25 glorious years, Bongotoru—one of Delhi-NCR’s leading Bengali diaspora associations—is celebrating its Silver Jubilee Durga Puja with grandeur, nostalgia, and a strong sense of belonging. Since 2000, Bongotoru has been a cultural home for countless Probashi Bengalis, recreating the essence of Pujo with dhaak beats, bhog, and traditional artistry.

This year’s themed pandal, Swapner 25, pays tribute to the founding vision of building a home away from home. The decor reflects a journey of tradition, adaptation, and community that resonates across generations.

Adding to the festivities, renowned singer-composer Anindya Bose has composed an original theme song that celebrates roots and nostalgia. The music video—shot across Delhi and Kolkata—was launched by Bollywood actress Bhagyashree during the Puja inauguration at Central Park, Shipra Suncity, alongside dignitaries from cinema, sports, and the arts.

Bongotoru’s cultural line-up includes Dandiya, theatre, dance, and cross-cultural performances featuring artists from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengal—offering a vibrant blend of tradition and modernity.

A key attraction remains the Nava Durga idol, crafted by Krishnanagar artisans, showcasing nine divine forms of Goddess Durga—a tradition Bongotoru uniquely continues for the fifth consecutive year in Delhi-NCR.

Reflecting on the milestone, Bongotoru President Surajit Dey Purkayastha said, “This 25-year journey is a celebration of cultural roots, community, and continuity. Bongotoru has become a family for many in the region, preserving and sharing our heritage.”

As part of its CSR outreach, Bongotoru is focusing on education, health, and community welfare this year, extending Pujo’s spirit beyond the pandal.
