Dharamshala, May 11, 2026: In a high-voltage IPL encounter at Dharamsala, Delhi Capitals pulled off a sensational 3-wicket victory over Punjab Kings in a match packed with explosive batting, dramatic twists, and a nerve-wracking finish.
Punjab Kings posted a challenging total of 210/5 in their 20 overs, thanks to brilliant half-centuries from skipper Shreyas Iyer and young opener Priyansh Arya. However, Delhi Capitals responded with an equally aggressive batting display and chased down the target with six balls to spare, finishing at 216/7.
Punjab got off to a flying start as Priyansh Arya smashed 56 runs off just 33 deliveries, setting the tone early in the innings. Shreyas Iyer then anchored the middle overs with a classy 59 off 36 balls, while the lower order added valuable runs to push PBKS past the 200-run mark. For Delhi, youngster Madhav Tiwari impressed with the ball, picking up two important wickets.
Chasing 211, Delhi Capitals showed fearless intent from the beginning. Captain Axar Patel led from the front with a powerful 56 off just 30 balls, keeping DC ahead in the chase. Veteran batter David Miller played a crucial knock of 51 runs from 28 deliveries, shifting the momentum firmly in Delhi’s favour.
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Delhi maintained the required run rate. In the final overs, Madhav Tiwari and Auqib Nabi held their nerve and finished the chase in style, sealing a memorable victory for the Capitals.
The thrilling win gives Delhi Capitals a major boost in the IPL points table and keeps their playoff hopes alive. On the other hand, Punjab Kings will be disappointed after failing to defend a strong total despite several impressive individual performances.
