Delhi, May 12, 2026: The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, S Taranjit Singh Sandhu said “This event is not just about destroying seized narcotic substances, but about breaking the network that harms youth, families, and society. Inspired by the vision of Narendra Modi for a Drug-Free India, and under the leadership of Amit Shah, Delhi is committed to achieving a drug-free future by 2027.”

To strengthen this mission, approval has been granted for Delhi’s first dedicated Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Police Station in New Delhi. This initiative will improve coordination, enforcement, and action against drug trafficking networks.

Delhi Police is adopting a comprehensive strategy that includes strict enforcement, financial investigations, hotspot mapping, awareness campaigns, and community outreach. Campaigns such as “Nasha? Not Cool” and Project Badlav aim to educate and protect young people, as awareness and prevention remain the strongest tools against addiction.

Around 1,700 kg of narcotic substances worth nearly ₹72 crore are being scientifically destroyed, symbolising the victory of law over crime and hope over addiction. Citizens are also encouraged to use the MANAS Portal to confidentially report drug-related activities and seek support.

The fight against drugs requires collective action from police, families, schools, communities, and citizens. Together, we can build a safer, healthier Delhi where youth choose purpose, opportunity, and progress over addiction.
