New Delhi, August 10, 2026: West Delhi Lions registered a convincing eight-wicket victory over East Delhi Riders in a rain-curtailed Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 fixture at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Monday. After the rain interruption, the Lions were set a revised target of 58 runs from seven overs, which they chased down comfortably in just 4.1 overs.

Batting first, East Delhi Riders were reduced to 95/5 in 15 overs before rain brought the innings to a halt. The Riders suffered an early blow as Dhruv Kaushik was dismissed off the very first ball.

However, Arpit Rana and Sujal Singh steadied the innings with a valuable 53-run partnership. Rana played an attacking knock of 32 off 20 balls before his dismissal triggered another collapse, with the Riders losing wickets at regular intervals. Sujal also chipped in with 34 off 22 balls before being dismissed.

For West Delhi Lions, Mayank Gusain led the bowling effort with 2/16 in three overs, while Shubham Dubey also picked up 2/17 in three overs.

Chasing the revised target, the Lions lost Ankit Kumar early for 4 off 3 balls. However, his dismissal did little to trouble the chase as Krish Yadav and Jitesh Singh took control of the innings.

Krish was particularly aggressive, taking the attack to the Riders’ bowlers and remaining unbeaten on 34 off just 14 balls. His quickfire knock ensured that West Delhi Lions completed the chase with plenty of balls to spare.
