New Delhi, July 22, 2025 : A two-day grand fashion exhibition titled “Delhi Tuff Ethnic Expo” was inaugurated today at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Ganesh Vandana. The event aims to promote the textile and garments industry, including suits, sarees, lehengas and readymade garments from across the country.

Textile traders from all over India showcased their latest collections at the exhibition. Well-known film actor Ravi Gosain was also present at the inauguration. The exhibition displayed a beautiful blend of traditional and modern Indian clothing such as suits, sarees, lehengas, and trending readymade garments.

Mr Ashok Aggarwal (Patron), Mr Vikas Ahuja (President) and Mr Puneet Ahuja (Secretary) of the True Unity Group Association said this is not just a fashion show, but a representation of women’s skills, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance.

They highlighted that although Chandni Chowk is known as a hub for manufacturing ladies’ suits, sarees, lehengas, and readymade garments, it has still not been recognized as the largest wholesale market in India. The primary objective of this expo is to promote Delhi’s garments trade and to establish Chandni Chowk market as the foremost and largest market in India.
Vikas Kapoor (Vice President) of the association and prominent trader leader Pradeep Tiwari stated that this event not only provided a platform for designers and small traders but also offered people access to quality and trendy fashion in a single location, along with a safe and enthusiastic shopping environment.

They added that Chandni Chowk is considered the largest market in Asia for ladies’ suits, but it is unfortunate that it has not yet received the status of being India’s largest market. Traders from across the country source goods from Chandni Chowk and sell them in their respective regions. However, due to a lack of official recognition and inadequate infrastructure, both traders and customers face many challenges.
Arvind Gupta, a leading saree trader from Chandni Chowk, informed that on 22nd and 23rd July, the Delhi Tuff Ethnic Expo to be held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, will also see participation from international traders. This will help expand India’s reputation and business in the global market through the exhibition of the latest readymade garments.
